An update about Surya, the winner of the Sponsorship Program
Surya, a resident of Seeds of Hope Children’s Home, was the winner of the EFFA Talent Sponsorship Program. This means that EFFA financed his entire study and all accompanied costs. Surya now studies Food & Beverage at the Dyana Pura University on Bali. We had contact with Surya to ask him how his study is progressing and what his plans are after he graduates.
Surya stated: “I want to thank the EFFA foundation very much for helping me with my education. I did not expect to have the chance to go to the university but thanks to God and Daniel and Remco I can now become what I always wanted to be, a chef. I hope that one day I will be able to be a good chef and open my own restaurant. To achieve this, I want to work at a hotel first to get more experience after I graduate. I want to thank the EFFA foundation again for giving me this unique opportunity and I will do everything I can to get the most out of my study!”
We are pleased to see that Surya enjoys his study so much and that he will be able to pursue his dream. We think Surya is very talented and hard-working so we expect that he will complete his study without any problems. We have no doubt that he will be able to become a good chef when he is older. We want to wish Surya good luck with his study and we will keep in touch with him to stay informed about his progress.
